Part 1 of this 3-Part series focused on the First Sacred Vow of a mystic: \u201cObedience\u201d \u2013 meaning Relationship, or Communion. In Part 2, we will focus on the Second Sacred Vow of a mystic: \u201cPoverty\u201d \u2013 meaning self-emptying, or letting go \u201cwith both hands.\u201d<\/p>\n
When an Initiated, or Spirit-Baptized, mystic establishes himself in Relationship (Awareness + Oneness), or Plugged-in Presence, his connection generates palpable consciousne…ss- force, or pressure. When he feels this pressure, he must yield to it by surrendering, or \u201cimpoverishing\u201d himself. This equates to utterly relaxing-releasing the entire bodymind. This \u201cgesture\u201d can be described as \u201cdying to self,\u201d or as if being \u201cdead,\u201d or effortless.<\/p>\n
This \u201cgesture,\u201d which may seem nihilistic on the surface, isn\u2019t. It\u2019s simply the means to \u201ccreate\u201d a vacuum, or \u201chole,\u201d through which the force, or pressure, of consciousness can \u201ctranslate into\u201d and flow as Energy, or Power, through the mystic. This radical reduction of resistance via self-emptying allows the \u201cpush\u201d engendered via the practice of Plugged-in Presence, or Relationship, to morph into \u201cpulled-down\u201d Power, the Descent of the Divine.<\/p>\n
At any point in the midst of receiving\/conducting, the Plenum, the Blessing\/Blissing Power from above, the mystic may dispense with the practice of self-emptying, the Vacuum, and instead directly relate to, and merge with, the Divine Power. And at any point in the midst of \u201cyang\u201d penetration of the Divine, he may revert to the \u201cyin\u201d practice of allowing the Divine to penetrate him.<\/p>\n
